Christina Donohue

Christina Donohue, age 82, of Ridge, formerly of Riverhead, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William, with whom she shared 45 years of cherished marriage, and her dear sister Joan Barrett. Christina leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family.

Christina was the epitome of strength, grace, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her children David and his wife Ellen, Richard and his wife Doreen, and Lorraine Winters. Christina's dedication to her family extended to her grandchildren: Christine Cooney, David Donohue,Ryane Donohue, Nikki Donohue, Owen Donohue, Nathaniel Donohue, Kathryn Winters, and Terence Winters. Her heart also swelled with pride for her great-grandchildren: Edward, William, Charlotte Cooney, and David Donohue.

In addition to her family, Christina leaves behind her beloved sister Patricia. Christina was a remarkable woman who excelled in various occupations throughout her life, including executive secretary, bank manager, and property manager. Her professionalism and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Christina found immense joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for travel, exploring new destinations near and far. Her green thumb was evident in the beautiful gardens she nurtured, and her love for literature enriched her soul. Christina's knack for organization was unmatched, and her home was always a model of order and efficiency.

One of Christina's greatest joys was her involvement in her grandchildren's lives. She took immense pride in supporting them in their endeavors, from school activities to sports events and school concerts. Her favorite moments were spent traveling alongside her grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will endure for generations to come.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on February 13th, 2024, from 3 pm to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at St. Mark's Church, located at 5 Randall Road, Shoreham, NY, at 1:45 pm.

Christina's life was a testament to love, strength, and generosity. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband William and sister Joan.
