

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Damianos Samonas, 68, of Sound Beach, New York, who passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Damianos was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Damianos was a man of many passions. He enjoyed the simplicity of life, spending time on his tractor, and indulging in his love for fishing. He found joy in cooking delicious meals for his family and friends, and he had a special fondness for Westerns, Big Band music, and the timeless sounds of Patsy Cline. He was a true handyman, always fixing things around the house and keeping busy with his hobby of collecting and cleaning guns.
A devout man, Damianos found peace and strength in reading the Bible. His faith, sense of humor, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. He was a dedicated family man, always offering support and guidance to his loved ones.
Damianos is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn, and his children: Brian Samonas (Taryn), LeeAnn Moulas (Peter), Carolyn Jackowski (Greg), Nicole Jackowski (Josh), Bobby Hellberg (Joanna), Christopher Samonas (Claudia), David Samonas (Kim), Daniel Samonas (Paige), James Samonas, Timothy Samonas, Sarah Samonas, Lilly Samonas, and Elijah "Iggy" Samonas. He was also a proud grandfather to 23 cherished grandchildren. Beloved brother to Tina.
Damianos is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and employees, all of whom will deeply miss him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sound Beach Community Church, 4 Great River Dr, Sound Beach, NY 11789. Interment will follow from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Mount Sinai, NY 11766.
Damianos will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for his family, and the many memories he created with those who were fortunate to know him. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit will remain with us always. May he rest in peace.
