I first met Dan when we worked for the Long Island Knights in the spring of 1988 and reunited when I coached basketball at Stony Brook from '94-'96. I never heard a bad word from him about anyone. Very sad to hear of his passing. I wil miss seeing him at the Stony Brook basketball and football games. He always made sure to stop by and say hello. RIP Dan. You will be missed.

So saddened to hear of the passing of longtime Stony Brook equipment man Dan Arena. From when I started working in the department as a 14-year old in 1988 -- the same year Dan started working for the Patriots -- he was always a friendly face and incredibly helpful. He took a genuine liking to a teenager who made old Pritchard Gym his home away from home. Over the years when Jen and our family would visit The Brook, Dan was always generous in giving us Seawolves gear and equipment for our kids. He always checked in on us as we have made our moves around the country. So sad to hear he lost his battle with cancer.

you will be missed, you help see the whole move to division 1 since 1991 all the way through. You were always willing to talk and were enthusiastic about the Patriots and Seawolves. RIP Go Seawolves

Dan, the man!!!!! You were a Seawolf through and through. Knew that Cofield wanted oversized short with the long inseam. Had my laundry pin just right all the time. You will be missed. May you rest in peace and your family be surrounded with love and support
