He is survived by his loving children, Laura B. Skala (Michael) and Jessica Meli (George), and was a cherished Grampy to Alaina, Carter, Sydney, and Justin. He was also a beloved brother to Leoard Brett and Lillian Russell (Van).
Edward had a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing. He spent countless memorable days fishing throughout Long Island, including at one of his favorite spots, Potter’s Rock. His love of automobiles was another defining part of his life. As a highly respected heavy auto-collision expert, he possessed a deep knowledge and appreciation for cars. He especially enjoyed the thrill of drag racing his beloved 1967 Camaro.
At home, Edward found joy and peace in caring for his flower garden, taking pride in watching it grow and flourish. Whether he was fishing, working on cars, racing, or tending his garden, Edward embraced the activities he loved and created lasting memories along the way.
Above all, Edward will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the special place he held in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, siblings, and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
