Dear Ann, Martha, Jim, Jonathan, and Elisha,
I want to convey how deeply sorry I am for the loss of your dear Betsy. I'm a childhood friend of Ann's and of the Clarke family, and I'll always remember Betsy in the house on the corner of Miami Avenue with a friendly greeting, a gentle smile on her face, and her lovely blond hair surrounding her face with a sort of glow. "Bets" was a lovely person as a child and I am sure was the same as an adult.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all,
Jenny Nunn Holland

I was fortunate to meet Elizabeth at the Shoreham Wading River Library in Anne Kelly Edmund’s Writing Workshop. Elizabeth, a lovely, kind, warrior woman. She wrote such beautiful pieces, often about the family she loved & the great life she shared with them. I am so lucky to have found the workshop & to have had the opportunity to get to know Elizabeth & share our writing. Blessings & kind thoughts to all of you.

Elizabeth and I met almost ten years ago during a writing workshop that I presented at the North Shore Public Library. The writing she shared was honest, beautifully expressed and skillfully written.

She encouraged me to offer a monthly Creative Writing workshop at the library, which I have done and which she attended over the years whenever she was able to do so.

Elizabeth read her wonderful poetry and memoir essays at the library’s Open Mics, which is where I met Jonathan and Elisha. I offer my heartfelt condolences to you both and to your family.

Elizabeth touched my life and so many others with her kindness and compassion. Her courage and persistence as she faced pain and physical limitations is an inspiration. I will miss her.
