Frances M. Blair

Frances, born on October 17, 1926, grew up in Queens, NY and began her career working for American Tobacco in New York City. She later continued her career on Long Island at the Suffolk County Executive’s Office as an Office Manager, where she took great pride in her work and remained a valued member until her retirement in 1990. It was in Middle Island, NY that she and her husband made their home and raised their six children, laying the foundation for the generations of family who will continue her legacy.

Fran, or “Effem,” as many of her loved ones called her, was the matriarch of the family and will continue to be with us all. Whether it be in every hand-knit blanket, cheering ferociously for our favorite sports team (especially the NY Yankees or Giants), a five o’clock libation or an effortless win in May I, Frances will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children: Thomas Blair (Helizabet), Susan Tocci (Joseph), Peter Blair (Eileen), Mary Tokos (Randy), Michael Blair (Donna) and Patricia O’Shea (Donald); Her grandchildren: T.J. Blair (Trixie), Kelly Adams (Christopher), Tara Gruendike (Garrett), Peter Blair (Maria), Catherine Tocci (Cassie), Joseph Tocci, Daniel Blair, Christopher Blair, Angela Tokos-Coolbaugh (Jason), Cody Tokos, Kasey Tokos and Molly O’Shea; Her great-grandchildren: Gage Gruendike, Miller Adams, June Adams, Bryce Coolbaugh, Tala Blair and Lucy Blair.

She is predeceased by her Husband Thomas J. Blair, Sister Mary Campbell, Brother-in-Law Elliot Campbell, Parents Mary and John McCay and Grandson Patrick Blair.

Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25a, Miller Place, NY 11764, US, on July 10, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will take place at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 134 Middle Country Rd, Coram, NY 11727, US, on July 10, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:15 am.

A Committal Service will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, NY 11933, US, on July 10, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm. A luncheon will follow at Drifters located at 1600 Middle Country Road, Ridge, NY 11961 at 1:00 pm.
