Gerard James Glennon

Gerard was the devoted and loving husband of Rachael, his beloved wife of 26 years. Their story began in Ireland, Gerard’s birthplace, where their paths first crossed and a beautiful life together began. Through 26 years of marriage, they built a family and a life filled with love, devotion, and countless memories.

Gerard was a proud and loving father to Andrew, Ava, and Abby, who were among his greatest joys. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved siblings, Sean, Anne, Catherine, Vincent, Paul, Helen, Anthony, and Sandra.

Gerard was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary, and is now reunited with her. He leaves behind his father, John Glennon, to cherish his memory.

To his family and friends, Gerard was cherished and known for being devoted, faithful, hard-working, loyal, and selfless. He had a generous heart and a steadfast presence that could always be counted on. And, of course, those who knew him best would lovingly add one more word to the list: ornery. His unique personality, humor, and spirit made him unmistakably Gerard.

Gerard dedicated his career to working as a Lineman for the Long Island Rail Road, where his strong work ethic and dedication were a reflection of the man he was in every part of his life.

Outside of work, Gerard found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed gardening, hiking, bicycling, and paddle boarding. He had a special love for baking, particularly making pancakes and sourdough bread. His family’s black lab, Maggie, was also a beloved companion and an important part of the family.

Gerard leaves behind more than memories—he leaves a legacy of love, devotion, hard work, family, and friendship. His absence will be deeply felt by Rachael, Andrew, Ava, Abby, his father John, his siblings, extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though he is gone, Gerard’s love and the memories he created will remain forever cherished by those who loved him. May he rest peacefully, reunited with his mother, Mary, and forever held in the hearts of those who loved him.
