We have been trying to reach our  good friend Jim Caffrey, who was our mailman for 17 years when we lived in Lake Grove.
If this is the same gentleman, we want his family to know what a special man  Jim was to our family.
One day, when Jim knew that my wife and I were away, Jim drove by and saw an unknown car in our driveway. Jim immediately knocked on the door to investigate. It turned out that my daughter was house- sitting and had friends over,  but who would ever take such an interest?!
In 2015 we were leaving a lawyer's office after closing on our sold house and an unknown number appeared on my phone. It was Jim, calling to wish us well, even though we had previously said goodbye to him. I don't even know how  he got my number, but it showed what a classy individual he was. We have kept in touch with him ever since.
He always spoke glowingly about his family.
We will miss him forever.
