Jannie Van Steenbergen

Jannie Van Steenbergen, age 95, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A woman of quiet strength, warmth, and grace, Jannie is now reunited with her beloved husband Arie, with whom she shared 56 devoted years.

Born with a nurturing spirit and a passion for wellness, Jannie built a lifelong career as a dedicated dietitian, helping others live healthier, fuller lives. Outside of her profession, she found great joy in the simple, beautiful rhythms of daily life. Whether tending to her garden, admiring blooming flowers, or watching birds from her window, Jannie embraced the world with wonder and gentleness.

She was the heart of her home, and nothing brought her greater happiness than time spent with her family. Jannie leaves behind her loving children and their spouses: her son Jeff and his wife Kim, her daughter Jennifer Ahearn, her son Peter and his wife Kathy, and her son Bert and his wife Rinad Bsharat. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren and a great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren, each one a precious part of her legacy.

Jannie's days were made brighter by her loyal four-legged friend, Veikka, whose companionship brought her constant comfort. She delighted in cuddling with her puppy, visiting with friends, indulging in Carvel treats, and simply enjoying the peace of her home.

Jannie’s life was a testament to quiet joy, enduring love, and the beauty of a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
