There are people who leave behind memories, and then there are people who leave behind stories, favorite sayings, laughter, and a void that can never quite be filled. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend was that kind of man. He could light up a room with a joke, make a stranger feel like an old friend, and somehow always knew the right thing to say.
He was a man of extraordinary kindness, compassion, and thoughtfulness. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. Whether through a helping hand, a well-timed joke, or a few words of wisdom, he left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A devoted family man, he cherished his roles as husband, father, and grandfather above all else. In his life, there was Betty—and then everything else. Their love was the centerpiece of his world, a partnership built on devotion, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and was a true connoisseur of jokes. He never missed an opportunity to make someone smile, often punctuating conversations with his signature phrases, “The idea is…” and the unforgettable farewell, “See you all of a sudden.”
Among his greatest joys was golf. As a proud member of the "Four J's," he treasured the friendships forged on the fairways. His favorite day of the year was the annual golf outing at the Moose, where stories grew taller, laughter rang louder, and his trademark exclamation of “Noodle noodle, dipsy doodle!” became part of the legend.
He loved to travel, embracing new places and experiences with enthusiasm and curiosity. Whether at home or on an adventure, he enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including a glass of Jameson shared among friends and family.
When he wasn't on the golf course, he could often be found enjoying the timeless classics he loved so dearly—Sherlock Holmes mysteries,
"The Rifleman", "Perry Mason", and "Wagon Train." These stories reflected his appreciation for wit, character, and enduring values.
His legacy is not measured by accomplishments alone, but by the countless lives he touched with his generosity, humor, and love. He taught us the importance of kindness, the value of family, and the power of laughter.
Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we are grateful for every moment we shared with him. We will carry his stories, his sayings, his jokes, and his love with us always.
As he might say, “See you all of a sudden.”
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
