Moerlins, John Jay on December 15, 2011 of Sound Beach, Long Island. Formerly of Woodside, New York and Staten Island, New York. Beloved husband of Audrey Moerlins (née Strnad). Loving father of Jean Kearns and her husband, Joseph; Thomas Moerlins; Michael Moerlins; and the late John Moerlins and the late Ellen Moerlins. Cherished grandfather of Paul, Jessica, Joseph and Nicholas. Mr. Moerlins was very active in the St. Louis de Montfort R.C. Church as the head usher at the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass. He was also a Past-President of the Sound Beach Civic Association; a member of the Board of the Sound Beach Property Owners Association; and a member of the Postal National Association of Letter Carriers. Reposing at O.B.Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, New York. Visitation, Saturday, December 17th and Sunday, December 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
