Joseph Patrick Connolly

Joseph was born on December 8, 1943, in New York, New York, to Joseph and Agnes Connolly. He cherished his childhood and maintained lifelong bonds with his siblings, Sarah, Mariann, Patrick, and his late sister, Agnes.

Joseph married the love of his life, Maureen, and together they built a beautiful life centered on family. They raised their two children, Joseph and Regina, in Syosset, New York, before retiring to Ridge, New York.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Joseph was a beloved father-in-law to Kathy and Phil, and a cherished brother-in-law to Thomas, Richard, and Deborah. His greatest joy was being "Pop-Pop" to his three treasured grandchildren, Erin, Kara, and Dane. He delighted in every moment spent with them, creating memories that they will carry with them forever.

Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he enjoyed a distinguished career as an aviation mechanic with Pan American Airlines. Known for his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic, he earned the admiration and respect of his colleagues throughout his career.

In addition to his military and professional accomplishments, Joseph proudly served his community for 40 years as a firefighter with the Syosset Fire Department. His commitment to helping others and protecting his neighbors reflected the selflessness, courage, and sense of duty that defined his life.

Joseph will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his loyalty, generosity, sense of humor, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him

Visitation will be held on June 18, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Catholic Mass will take place at St Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 105 Randall Rd, Shoreham, New York 11786, on June 19, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Committal Service on June 19, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm.
