Joseph L. Ferrigno of Jamesport, NY and Marco Island, FL, died on Easter Sunday. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Jo-Ann Mastronardi; his beloved brother John; his daughters, Donna Ohanian (Robert) and Tina Lunt (Robert); and his grandchildren, Graham, Landon, and Ellena. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Mary Ferrigno, and brother Danny.
Joe was born in Corona, NY on April 10, 1931. He enlisted in the Navy, and served from 1948-1952 during the Korean war. When his family moved to Rocky Point, Joe began work as a rigger, climbing poles and towers for RCA. His longest career was with the Shoreham-Wading River school district. While working there he also served as the president of their CSEA. In retirement he and Jo-Ann traveled extensively and enjoyed biking, swimming, boating, and attending cultural events. He was a volunteer at his Marco Island and Long Island churches as well as at Southampton Hospital and the former Central Suffolk hospital. The family would like to thank Racquel, Joe’s aide, for the care and love she gave every day for two years. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Main Road, Mattituck.
