June I will miss your smile and laugh. I heard it for 36 years as we laughed together. A few yrs ago we found a Marilyn Monroe scarf. Knowing how much June loved Marilyn and scarves I knew it was the perfect gift for her. She was so happy to get it as I was to give it.
Sisters in our hearts always.
You will b missed and lovingly remembered.

Forty-Five years age I met June at the IRS in Holtsville. Anyone who knows June knows first impressions aren't always accurate, so with an initial rocky start, we became close best friends, sisters as it were. Feisty and fierce, with a lot of spunk, June could not stand incompetence at work, taking her job at the IRS very seriously. The only full time part-timer, she got 8 hours of work done in 6 hours.
She was a fighter, not letting her illness get her done. She loved Jazz, the Theater, pink Flamingos, the "color" purple (not the movie), but mostly a great Martini. An entity unto herself, headstrong taking no guff from anyone, but always a dear friend to all in her circle.
June fought a brave fight for over 40 years, but she was getting tired of being ill, so she has now gone to sleep. No more pain, no more fight.
I was able to tell her that I loved her and that we've been friends for 45 years. She smiled and said yes we are.
May God take his little angel under his wing for all eternity, rest in peace my friend.
