

Laurel was born on August 22, 1960 in Brooklyn and was lovingly adopted by Doris and Frank Hurley. She was a dedicated homemaker and volunteer. Laurel spent years volunteering as the class mother for her son’s time in elementary school. She was a key member in the organization of the Miller Place PTO Fashion Show. She also spent some years volunteering at St. Charles Hospital. Additionally, Laurel spent some of her time as both a retail manager and a salesperson.
Laurel married the love of her life, Robert Lipori, on October 6, 1990 and they raised their son, Robert in Miller Place. She was a beloved mother, wife, dog-mom, sister and friend. Her unwavering love, eagerness to help and great sense of humor were cherished by all around her.
Laurel was predeceased by her parents and dear friends Marianne Tangel and Jane White Brezo. She is survived by her husband Bob, son Robert, brother Glenn Hurley, dear friends Christine Halderman Olsen and Mary Moehring Alaimo, as well as all friends she had treated as though they were her own family.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Home in Miller Place.
