Larry was married to his wife, Marlene, for 62 years. They met in Astoria and built their life together, raising a family and sharing many years of memories.
A proud Marine veteran, Larry carried a strong sense of dedication, loyalty, and service throughout his life. He also served as President of Local 1087, reflecting his commitment to his work and colleagues. Larry enjoyed talking about work and was always willing to share a story, offer his perspective, or bring some humor to the conversation.
Larry was known for his kindness, humor, and generosity. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who valued time with his family. He also enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time with family and watching the waters of the Long Island Sound.
In addition to his wife, Marlene, Larry is survived by his daughter, Aileen Meruelo, and his son, Charles. He was the grandfather of Stephanie, Stacie, Jeffrey, Bridgette, Jessica, Charles, and Patrick, and the great-grandfather of Carter, Theodore, Samson and Chase.
Larry will be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues for his sense of humor, kindness, and dedication to those around him.
Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25a, Miller Place, NY 11764, US, on October 1, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Committal Service and Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, NY 11933, US, on October 2, 2026, at 10:00 am.
