

Born in Brooklyn NY on December 19, 1939, to the late Florence and Leo Hesler. Brother of the late Arthur Hesler, Loving husband of 28 years to Angela, and dearest father of Sean Hesler (Michele), Stephen Hesler (Melissa), Dawn and Debbie Hesler, and stepfather to Donna Brodeur. Cherished grandfather to 16 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Sisters Florence Bowen, Barbara Federico and brother Raymond. Leo is also survived by his cherished fur baby Buster who was a constant companion and source of joy in his life. He leaves a large loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and many lifelong and treasured friends.
Leo was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, where he proudly served with the 4th Degree Honor and Color Guard. He had a distinguished career with Grumman as an F14 Plane Captain. Followed by many years as a tree surgeon with Davey Tree and well driller with Delta Commercial Well Drilling. Leo wore many hats which further showcased his hard-working, honest, and devoted nature.
A man of many passions. Leo lived life to the fullest. A man who found joy in feeding the wild animals that frequented his yard. His adventurous spirit shone through in his hobbies as he embraced running marathons, bicycling, skydiving and remained a proud member of Gold Gym where he excelled at weightlifting to the ripe age of 80.
To know Leo was to witness true selflessness, always putting others first, and in return, left behind a lifetime of loving memories. Leo’s passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew
him.
Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25a, Miller Place, NY 11764, US, on March 16, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
