First Sergeant Leslie “Les” Allier, US Army (Ret.), passed away leaving a legacy of military honor and fierce devotion to his family. A veteran of 35 years of service, Les earned his jump wings with the 82nd Airborne Division before deploying to combat in Vietnam with the 1st Infantry Division ("The Big Red One"), later retiring as a First Sergeant in the Army National Guard. Les was as tough as he was soft-hearted—known for his sharp wit, old-school military respect, and affectionate nicknames for everyone around him. A proud man of Puerto Rican heritage who loved life’s simple pleasures: a cold beer on the beach, a campfire, classic 50s/60s doo-wop and country music, and plenty of Tabasco sauce. Above all, Les was a devoted husband, a guiding father who taught his children to walk tall and stand by their principles, and a deeply cherished grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 2. He may no longer be at the head of the table but he will always have a place in every heart gathered around it.
