It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Louise O’Brien, age 77, of Mt. Sinai, New York, on the morning of January 28, 2026, following a brief illness. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, on October 18, 1948, she was the cherished daughter of the late Luigi and Florence Porzio.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who lived for her family and friends, treasuring every moment spent with them. She was a beacon of strength and grace, known for her unwavering love for her late husband, Kevin, a dedicated veteran who honorably served our country.
Her passions included traveling and enjoying cultural arts such as theater, museums, and music. However, her favorite pastime was catching up with family and friends over a good visit or a long chat. Mary was warm, optimistic, elegant, and an amazing conversationalist with a wonderful sense of humor.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Tara, Christopher, and Sean; her daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Morgan; her grandchildren, Colin, Addyson, and Kate; and her grandpets, Samba, Watson, and Lulu. Mary is also survived by her loving sisters, Mitchie, Cathy, and Joanne; her brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Mary’s family invites you to join them in celebrating her life at the OB Davis Funeral Home, 1001 NY-25A, Miller Place, NY, on Saturday, January 31st, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, with a gathering afterwards to be announced.
We hope to see you all there to honor the beautiful life of Mary Louise O’Brien.
In remembrance of Mary Louise O'Brien's life and love, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Make A Wish Foundation. https://tinyurl.com/5d9nfnnt
