Watching that video has me all choked up... Seeing little Paul brought back memories.. Lost touch after losing Paul... Seems Matt and I would have gotten along well as I'm a computer hardware guy myself, 17 years now.  The video shows he was a GREAT husband and dad! And really into his baseball! Tyler looks like he's going to be a all-star pitcher one day!! Keep it up, kiddo!

Dear Debbie, Tyler, Zach, Patrick, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Paul, Doris & Jen,
We know there is nothing we can say that will ease your loss and erase your pain.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.  May looking back at your memories of Matt help comfort your tomorrows and bring peace to your hearts and souls.   
When we visited Matt at Helen Hayes all he could talk about was his family.  He said “Laurie, you might think you are a good wife, but Debbie is the best”.  He went on to tell us how he just could not believe what you could accomplish.  Deb, he was so in awe of you as a mother, a wife and a woman.  He beamed with pride as he told us the story of Tyler with his baseball; he explained how he arrived at wearing No. 16 and how much it meant to Tyler to wear it.  He told us about how you and the kids were fixing up the rooms to make his transition to home go as smooth as possible.   He was ecstatic while showing us the poster the children made for him and reading off each of their notes.  He told us how much weight you all lifted from his shoulders.  How excited he was about getting the Prius and being able to drive in the HOV lane and what a relief it was to know that his parents would always have his back.  He even took a great deal of pride in showing us the kind and thoughtful words printed about him in the Baseball Newsletter.  The message we got from that visit with Matt was not only how much he loved all of you, but, more importantly, how absolutely certain he was of how much you all loved him.  
Matt, you will be deeply missed.
