

It is with great sadness that the family of Maureen Laieta (née Callinan) announce her sudden passing on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the age of 79. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Daniel Laieta. Maureen was born in Manhattan, New York to Josephine and John Callinan on July 18, 1945. She graduated from Mother Cabrini High School in Manhattan and went onto St. John’s University where she met Daniel Laieta. They were happily married for 47 years. Maureen was a devoted and beloved elementary school teacher serving at William Floyd school district for 30 years. Maureen was a devout, mother, grandmother, and friend. Known for her kindness, generosity, and her fun-loving spirit. She is survived by her daughter Christine Lange and her husband Andrew and her son Dr. Daniel Laieta and his wife Jennifer. Her cherished grandchildren; Nicholas Lange, Hunter Lange, Caroline Lange, Daniel Laieta and Jack Laieta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and John Callinan and her brother Thomas Callinan. Please join us in celebrating Maureen‘s life and legacy.
