It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Richard F. Carrara, aged 60, of Calverton, New York, who departed this life on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Richard was born in Harlem, NY, and his life was a testament to love, kindness, and resilience.
Richard is survived by his loving daughter, Kate Carrara, and devoted son, Blake Carrara. He is also mourned by his beloved parents, Louise and Richard Carrara, and his cherished siblings, Matthew Carrara (Kim), Diane Carrara, and Denise Mazzarella (Joe).
Richard's presence was a beacon of warmth and joy in the lives of all who knew him. His sudden departure has left an indelible void in our hearts, and his memory will be forever cherished.
Richard was a diehard Chevrolet fan, having owned several Monte Carlos, and had a passion for his bikes, particularly Harley Davidsons. He was known to "always be the driver". He loved to work with his hands and could fix anything; his knowledge was vast and impressive. As he would say "That'll fix it".
An incredible father, Richard was very family-centric. He was so proud of his children and was a constant presence in their lives. Sundays were always reserved for family dinners at his parents' home. He also had a soft spot for Disney and cherished the magic it brought to his family.
In remembrance of Richard's life, a visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by another visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes - Miller Place, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, New York 11764. A funeral service will take place on the same day at 8:00 PM.
