Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, with whom he shared a remarkable journey of 68 years in marriage. His memory will also be cherished by his children, Thomas (Cynthia), Richard Jr. (Kerrie), and Patricia Langenfeld. Richard was a pillar of support and a source of unwavering love for his grandchildren: Dylan Rinck, Justin Rinck, Matthew Langenfeld, Brendan Langenfeld, Christian Langenfeld, Logan Rinck, and Kaitlin Rinck.
Born into a family of strength and resilience, Richard was a proud brother to Ronald. He served his country with honor and valor as a Korean War Veteran in the United States Marine Corps, a chapter of his life that he held dear to his heart.
Professionally, Richard excelled as an aircraft mechanic, demonstrating precision and skill in his craft. However, it was in his hobbies that he found his true joy. Richard was an avid golfer, finding solace and challenge on the greens. He was also a devoted fan of both the New York Jets and the New York Mets, his enthusiasm for the games infectious to all who knew him.
Beyond his achievements and hobbies, Richard will be remembered most for his kindness, his unwavering loyalty, and his infectious laughter. His presence illuminated the lives of all those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Richard had a special fondness for visiting Jones Beach, where he and Nancy would enjoy picnic dinners of his favorite grilled chicken prepared by Nancy. They would soak up the sun until sunset, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
