Robert was the beloved husband of 68 years, to the late Elizabeth A. Doepper. Loving father to 7 children, Patti Nagy (Jerry), Liz Gregorek (Larry), Bobby Doepper (pre-deceased)(Erika), Marianne Smith (Ken), Kathleen Beacon (Mark), Christine Meehan (Tom), Dr. John Doepper (Michelle).
Dear grandfather of 24: Michael, Kenny, Darlene, Erin, Katie, Carolyn, Sarah, Steven, Lawrence, Emily, Georgianna, Sean, Mary, Timmy, Patrick, Bobby, Danny, Paul, Kerri, Nathaniel, Nicole, Christopher, Kevin and Johnny. And 27 great-grandchildren.
Robert was a retired Nassau County Police Officer and devoted Catholic. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan, and a man whose life was filled with music, laughter and love. He shared his love of singing with his beloved late wife, Elizabeth, and their family. After her passing, he continued spreading the joy of music as a member of the Bristal of Mt. Sinai Glee Club.
Together, he and Elizabeth faithfully served their church as Eucharistic ministers. He brought endless joy to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with his handcrafted wooden gifts, his endless supply of jokes, entertaining all those around him. His love for his family will forever live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25a, Miller Place, NY 11764, on October 22, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again on October 22, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will take place at Infant Jesus Church, 110 Myrtle Ave, Port Jefferson, NY 11777 on October 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3442 NY-112, Coram, NY 11727 on October 23, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
