

Rocco S. Tancredi, of Rocky Point, New York, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 93. Born to a generation defined by hard work, dedication, and love of family, Rocco lived a life marked by service, patriotism, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear. In his younger years, he proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard, a commitment that reflected the deep love and respect he had for the United States throughout his life.
Rocco was the beloved husband of Mary, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Annmarie Lopena (the late Peter), Karen Febrizio (Nicholas), Mary Caccavale (Felice), Doreen Caputo (Charles Jr.), and Janine Lopez (Michael). He was a proud and loving Pop Pop to sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy and pride. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Anna Kiernan, and his nephew, James Kiernan, along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Rocco found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed hunting, pigeon racing, and cheering on his beloved New York Yankees. More than anything, he treasured Sunday dinners surrounded by family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. His greatest accomplishment and source of pride was the family he loved so deeply.
Rocco will be remembered for his strong values, warm heart, sense of humor, and steadfast dedication to his family and country. His legacy of love, loyalty, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis de Montfort R.C. Church, 75 New York Avenue, Sound Beach, New York. Interment with military honors will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, New York.
