Ruben M. Miranda

Ruben M. Miranda, age 84, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025. Born on February 18, 1941, he was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandy. Ruben is survived by his loving children: Christine Byrne, Beth Kushner (Ken), Katie Jannelli (Rob), and Christopher Miranda (Cathy). He was a cherished grandfather to Meagan (Irfan), Michael, Mia, Julia, Ryan, C.J., Joseph, Thomas, Olivia, Sadie, and Lylah. Ruben is also survived by his dear sister, Adrienne Christiano (late Joseph), and many loving nieces and nephews.

Ruben loved the outdoors—especially hunting deer with his buddies, family camping and spending time on the beaches of Montauk, NY. A lifelong food lover, he took professional cooking classes and became the family’s BBQ grill master. His "Papa waffles" were legendary and adored by all his grandchildren.

Ruben’s legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable meals will live on through the many lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes

1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at 10:00 AM at St. Anselm’s Episcopal Church, 4 Woodville Rd, Shoreham, NY 11786 followed by a private cremation. Military Honors and Inurnment will be held at Calverton National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
