Ruebens "Rudy" Spinicelli, age 86, of Islip, New York, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rudy was the beloved husband of Grace, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Dawn Howard (Frank), James M. Wisowaty, Lisa Stern (Andy), and Gina Ingram (Jon). He was a cherished grandfather to Anthony, Jordan, and Hayes, who brought great joy and pride to his life.
Rudy was a devoted brother to Rachelle Johnson (Timothy), Veronica Spinicelli, and Lawrence Spinicelli. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever remember his kindness and generous spirit.
A man who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, Rudy especially enjoyed spending time crabbing with Grace and fishing. He loved Fire Island and treasured the time spent outdoors. He had an amazing talent for gardening and took great pride in tending to his plants and garden. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, always ready to challenge himself with a new one.
Above all, Rudy will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, and loyal friend. His love for his family and the memories they created together will remain in their hearts forever.
Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764, on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Anthony's of Padua Church, 614 NY-25A, Rocky Point, NY 11778, on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Following the Mass, Rudy will be laid to rest at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, NY 11933, with interment beginning at 11:30 a.m.
May he rest in peace and forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
