Stella M. Scott

SCOTT, STELLA (nee Mastrototaro) of Ridge, formerly of Rockville Centre and Greenpoint, passed away peacefully after a long and brave battle with Corticobasal Syndrome on Wednesday, March 11. She is survived by her grateful and loving husband of 52 years, Kevin, her adored and adoring daughters Amanda Scott and Hillary Scott ( Joseph Pokorny ), her beloved grandsons Owen Scott Pokorny and Oliver Scott Pokorny, her sisters Carmela McCurry (Jim) and Angela Leonard (Kevin), five nephews and two nieces. She is pre- deceased by her parents Cataldo and Victoria Mastrotataro.

Born in Brooklyn on August 19, 1950, Stella earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Queens College and was a fourth grade grammar school teacher at PS 34 in Brooklyn, and later spent many years as the Office Manager for a psychiatric practice in Rockville Centre, but her true vocation was raising and forming the character of her two daughters and loving her two grandsons.

A visitation will be held at A O Davis Funeral Home in Miller Place NY on Monday March 16 at 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM with a Funeral Mass on Tuesday March 17 at St Marks RC Church in Shoreham NY at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to CurePSP and the Kanas Center at East End Hospice in Westhampton Beach NY.
