My Condolences go out to the Entire Crosby Family .

My memories of Tom go back to when I was a member at Miller Place Fire Department.  Tom was always down at the firehouse to drill or hangout with the guys , or washing / working on his truck . He was a respectful young man, that had a good head on his shoulders.  He was dedicated to serving his community. He was also always enjoyable to talk with .

Tom will be missed dearly

I remember growing up with Thomas. We grew distant over the years but back at AMPS and Laddie we were thick as thieves. Me, Thomas, and Steven. 

To say his death came as a shock would be an understatement, it definitely ripped me out of my normal day to day. Wish I had spoken to him more, especially after finding out he wasn't to far from where I live now. 

My heart goes out to the Crosby's. I still remember all the pool days, Karate, and when I had to help Thomas with Italian. Memories I had to dig deep for, but planted so firmly that nothing could replace them. Wishing all the best. God be with ye.  - Ryan Sultan

Lucille, Tom, and family, no words can express how sorry we are for the loss of Thomas. We have so many fond memories of him playing countless hours of war or swimming with the boys. You are in our thoughts and will remain in our prayers. Roseann, John, Ryan and Justin Sultan.

There are some people who become part of your story so early in life that, no matter how much time passes or how far apart your lives become, they never really leave it. Thomas J. Crosby was one of those people for me.

Thomas and I were very close throughout elementary and middle school. So many of my memories from those years have Thomas somewhere in them. When I think about my childhood and the people who were there for it, Thomas will always be one of them.

After middle school, life took us in different directions. We drifted apart and weren’t really part of each other’s lives as adults, but I never forgot him. I always thought highly of Thomas and was glad to see him building a good life for himself.

A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to tell him that. Today, I am more grateful for that than I can put into words. He knew I remembered our friendship, that those years still meant something to me, and that I still cared.

Thomas turned 27 on August 4. Four days later, he was gone. There should have been so much more time.

Thomas built a successful career in HVAC, working his way from technician to Project Manager. He was a man of faith, a proud patriot, and a volunteer firefighter with the Miller Place Fire Department like his father before him. Most importantly, he loved his family deeply and was always willing to help others.

There is a unique heartbreak in losing someone from your childhood. Once, we were simply two kids growing up together, never imagining how precious those ordinary days would someday become.

Thomas, thank you for being my friend and for being part of my childhood. Our lives eventually took different roads, but I’ll always be grateful that, for those important years, we walked the same one.

May you rest in peace, Thomas. I’m so grateful I got to tell you that you mattered to me. You will never be forgotten.
