Thomas A. Winter, 70, formerly of Cranford, NJ passed away peacefully at Mills Pond Nursing Home, St. James, NY on October 6th after a long illness. He was born in Cranford where he spent most of his life. Thomas served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of Union County Chapter 688 of The Vietnam Veterans of America and the VFW Post 2230, Kenilworth, NJ. He retired from Construction Specialties, Cranford after many years of service. Thomas was predeceased by his parents Conrad and Margaret Winter, and is survived by a brother Conrad J. Winter of Stroudsburg, PA, and two sisters, Rosalie Hellenbrecht of Miller Place, NY and Martha Porzig of Cocoa, FL as well as many nieces and nephews. A family funeral service will be held at O.B. Davis Funeral Home, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY on Friday, October 10th, followed by internment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
