

Valentina Efthimiades, 90 of Sarasota, FL passed away peacefully on March 24 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Arthur Efthimiades (deceased) with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Amarynthos (Vathia) Greece, daughter of the late Panagiotis Elisseos and Chrysanthi Labadaki. She came to the United States in 1959 and became a U.S. citizen. She lived in New York until 1993 at which time she retired in Sarasota, Florida.
Mrs. Efthimiades was a seamstress until she retired. She enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, and had a tremendous circle of friends.
She is survived by her son, Nikolas Fokias, three daughters; Tina Iliou (George), Maria Kousiaris (Kostas), and Marika Beinlich (Timothy); seven grandchildren, Kostandinos Kousiaris (Martha), Salvatore Varisco III (Rachel), Gina-Marie Varisco, Athanasios Efthimiades, Alexandria Iliou, Julianna Efthimiades, Valentina Moskowitz; and great-grandchildren; Kostandinos Kousiaris, Maria Kousiaris, Liam Duggan, and AryaVarisco. She was the sister of Harry Elisseos (Popi), Bobby Elisseos (Helen), and John Elisseos (Kathy).
Valentina goes on to join those that have preceded her; her husband Arthur, her son Billy, and her siblings Nicholas, Elisseos, Efthokia, Efstathia, Koula, and Marika.
Valentina had a generous heart and will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held at O.B. Davis Funeral Home, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764. Burial will be held at St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church in Sarasota, Florida; details pending.
