It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our Beloved Mother Virginia "Ginny" A. Bellavia, aged 88, of Rocky Point, New York, who left us on October 1, 2025. Born on June 1, 1937, Ginny lived a life filled with love, kindness, and a deep commitment to her family and friends.
Ginny had several professions during her lifetime, most cherished of which was Mother to her five children. She was passionate about a wide range of activities that brought her joy. She loved bowling, playing bingo, mah jong, crocheting, sewing, and creating beautiful ceramics. Her creativity and zest for life were reflected in everything she did.
A woman of deep faith, Virginia was a devoted member of her Catholic community. Her spirituality was a source of strength, and she shared that strength with everyone around her. Virginia’s kindness, generosity, and loving nature left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend—always someone you could count on. Her warmth and care made her a constant source of comfort to those she loved, and she will be deeply missed.
Ginny is survived by her children: Cecilia Doolittle (Kevin), Geraldine Nigg (Clemens), Jacqueline Bellavia, Salvatore Bellavia (Maureen), and Regina Bellavia (Charles Pepper). She was the proud grandmother of Salvatore, Kelsi, Sean, McKenzi, Shannon, and Gio, and a loving great-grandmother to Samiyah. She is also remembered by her dear sister, Anne, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Virginia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Salvatore, and by her siblings Jeanne Marie, Alice, Dolores, David, Tommy, Bob, and Betty.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ginny's life at a visitation on October 5, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on October 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Louis de Montfort R.C. Church, Sound Beach, NY. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at Calverton National Cemetery in Wading River, NY, at 11:30 am.
While Ginny’s presence will be greatly missed, the love she gave and the memories she leaves behind will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
