It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and friend, David Rogaczewski, affectionately known as "Rogo," on June 12, 2026. David passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his wife and children, after a brief illness. David was born on July 14, 1954, in Inkster, Michigan, to Benjamin and Mary Rogaczewski. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, and went on to build a career as a diesel mechanic for the City of Los Angeles. Later, he worked as a driver and mechanic for D&S Waste in Yerington, Nevada. Throughout his life, David was dedicated not only to his work but also to serving his community through the Rotary Club of Smith Valley, Nevada, and as a track coach for the local high school.
Dave embraced life with enthusiasm and adventure. He loved racing dirt bikes, snow skiing, boating, and fishing with family and friends. As a life member of Checkers M.C., he spent many years racing throughout the California desert. An exceptional mechanic and a many-time family Monopoly champion, Dave had a gift for bringing joy wherever he went. Laughter followed him throughout his life, and he will always be remembered for the jokes, stories, and smiles he shared with those he loved.
Above all, Dave loved having fun, and his infectious spirit inspired everyone around him. He lived by strong values and worked hard to instill those principles in his children, while never losing the mischievous streak that led to countless memorable adventures. He had a kind heart, a deep love for animals, and a special appreciation for family traditions. Holidays were especially meaningful to him, and the traditions he created will continue to be treasured for generations to come.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Heather; their children, Kellie and Cory; and his children from a previous marriage - Terry and Kristi. Dave and Heather built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Over the years, they shared countless adventures, traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Maine, the Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands, and created cherished memories that their family will treasure for a lifetime.
Kellie and Cory shared their father's passion for attending fairs and will always remember him as their loudest and proudest supporter at every sporting event. Dave was an incredibly dedicated, hardworking, and loving man whose presence enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered beyond what words can express.
A graveside service will be held on June 23, 2026, at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery, where David will be laid to rest alongside his sister, Madeline ("Madge") Rogaczewski, and his parents, Benjamin and Mary Rogaczewski.
Though he is no longer with us, Dave's laughter, generosity, traditions, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
