Dorothy passed away in her home on December 30, 2026. She was born in Safford, Arizona to George and Catherine King. She moved to Genoa where she went to school, then to Douglas where she completed high school. She met Marvin Bartels, married him, and they had six children together. She worked in the Pioneer Bank and then at the Record Courier. After divorcing Marvin, she then married Charles Jones.
Dorothy came from a large family of six kids, her siblings being Tom, Jean, Betty, Kitty, and Dick, all of whom have preceded her in death. She is preceded in death by two of her children, Derek Elmer and Jan Elizabeth. She is survived by four of her children, John K, Marvie Catherine, Kent Bartels, as well as eight grandkids, nineteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
