Mashelle Begovich

March 7, 1959January 13, 2020

In the crisp morning hours of January 13th, Mashelle Lee Begovich ended her journey here on Earth and began her eternal life in heaven.

Born on March 7, 1959 in South Lake Tahoe to Sharkey and Connie Begovich, she immediately began captivating the hearts of all who knew her. Living in Lake Tahoe, Carson city and Gardnerville her entire life and attending Carson High School. Even before adulthood she began working side by side with her father and brother at Sharkey’s Casino where they all remained until 2002. She loved working with her family and all the people she met along the way. She equally loved the Carson Valley community participating in many events throughout the valley including fundraising and youth programs among many others. Her kind, fun loving and generous heart has impacted many. Mashelle also enjoyed traveling to Cabo, fishing, hunting, spending time with her loved ones especially her grandchildren Rowdy and Tilly. In the last several years she fought illness valiantly, never waiving in heart or faith.

She is preceded in death by her beloved father Milos Sharkey Begovich and her long time love Gordon Campbell. She is survived by her mother Connie Begovich, brother Butch (Darlene), stepson Cliff (Christina), nephews Jeff (Liz), Chris (Nicolette), Todd (Cathy), nieces Keri (Dan), and Merry and many cousins. She is also survived by her adoring daughter Mary (Travis), grand children Rowdy and Tilly. Mashelle was fortunate in this life to have many incredible friends to include her soul sisters Janet Gookin and Bonnie Jackson.

She was a mother and Baba figure to countless people during her life, all of whom she loved as her own. Mashelles wings were ready but our hearts were not. Fly high, we will see among the stars.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Mashelles name to the Carson Valley Active 20-30 club at P.O. Box 2030 Gardnerville, NV or Me for Incredible Youth Inc. at P.O. Box 606 Gardnerville, NV.

With her last bit of strength she dressed to the nines and pulled herself on her winged horse.
As the evening approached and the skies turned to candy ribbons, the Spirit horse unfurled her mighty wings and they climbed ever higher into the Orange abyss that gave way to the silent stars to greet their beautiful Angel.
May Peace be with everyone who’s lives were touched by such a remarkable and supreme being.

So saddened to hear about Mashelle but so grateful to have known this generous lady. As our girls grew up together, Mashelle was always there to help with anything needed for Girl Scouts, Carson Valley Girls’ Softball, and more. Her smile and gorgeous bouncy hair was always near by. We will miss her, even from afar (AZ), and her legacy will live on.
XOXO...to Mary and the family

My Wife took a job in Sharkeys Casino. She came home and told me about Sharkeys Daughter, she said that Mashehhe was really sweet, kinda crazy 8n a fun kind of way however she was not a lady to be crossed, she took her shift management position seriously. Of course I had to meet this lady, and I did. Jess and I began to hang out at Sharkeys on a regular basis. We became friends and more.By more I mean like family. My wife and I decided to have a child thru invetro fertilization in order to achieve this miracle, Jess had to have injections every night at the same time,Jess was on shift at the time that the injection was needed so Mashelle took over that task and thanks to her we were successful and I now have fraternal twins due to Mashelles kind and loving heart. I was diagnosed with diabetes, this terrified me but again Mashelle came to my rescue. She came to our house and talked to me about diabetes, told me to call her if any concerns and sent home many pieces of test equipment and supplies. In other words she was a truely kind and extremely generous both with her time and thoughtfulness. I am truly sad about her passing and will miss her presence on this plain .However, I can take solice in the idea that she and Jessica are together again and raising cain on the other side. You are and will be missed Mashelle.

Michelle was one of the first people I can remember meeting as a young lady when I moved to Nevada always kind full of energy and a light in the world. I will never forget the big house with the wrap-around porch and the carousel horse in living room it was absolutely beautiful just like Michelle. May you rest in the Lord's peace and may your children's, grandchildren 's and families time of grief sadness and loss be made smaller by the legacy that you leave

I was so honored to be your friend and to have had you in my life. The great friendship you had with Ernie really rubbed off on me. The world was certainly a brighter place with you in it! I so enjoyed our lunches and stories ( true or not) and our phone calls. I know that your dad is smiling big and welcoming you with open arms. You will certainly be missed by many and loved for ages! RIP

Your shining lovelight in this community will NEVER be dimmed, It will only shine MORE brightly! You were your father's daughter, and just as his light shines brightly, yours will too! You gave ALL of yourself freely, without question...only love. will miss our chats, lunch at your house, always sending me off with goodies, will miss your HUGE love for mary and how your eyes lit up when you mentioned her, how they lit up when ever you spoke about your family, even when they got on your "last nerve. No matter what you were going through, you STILL made time to check on others & remember birthdays. I will cherish your words, love & your support when i lost Beau. your own love of critters was such a beautiful part of who you were! words will never be enough to express how special you are! <3 Rest peacefully <3 love you
