I want to do something differnt to honor Anita's memory and others who have passed away that were part of the education staff of Como Park Elementary. Anita was a TA in the Special Education program there and many other schools over the many years she worked for the SPPS. She worked specifically with the Autism students which is a very challenging job that requires a lot of patience and special talent to be able to last as long as she did and enjoy her work. I think it was like a vocation for her. 
I decided to make a specail stucker that can be placed inside the cover of books donated to Como Park Elementary Library in memory of Anita and other former staff. She loved to read and share her love for books with the students while working there. This way her love for the students and books can continue.
Please consider donating a book in memory of her during the coming school year of  2017-18 !  Go to the schools office and tell them you would like to donate a book and they will give you a donation form to fill out and a sticker to put in the book and pass it on to the librarian.

Anita left us more than a month ago, and I still find that fact hard to acknowledge. Hence, writing a tribute has been difficult, and too-long delayed.  I think of her daily and expect to see her-- at the grocery, as often happened--or see her coming, smiling, down the walk to visit when she saw me working in my yard. She was a dear, dear friend.  I will miss her as long as I live. She and Lowell were the first to visit and welcome me when I moved to Charles Ave. more than 38 years ago.  They remained dear friends who often stopped by to chat.

I send my condolences to Anita's family.  I am a Wilson HS classmate and a Macalester College classmate.  I have many wonderful memories of Anita as a very positive person. She worked hard to retain WHS memories and history.

To the family of Anita. I know Anita from Como Park Elementary. I worked with her several years before she retired. I remember her as a soft spoken, kind, patient, but also fun person who always looked at the bright side of a situation. She was loved by all the children and staff and missed when she decided to retire. We sent her off with many good wishes for a happy retirement. I hope Anita and her husband were able to enjoy many good, fun and free years before she came down with cancer and the passing of both of them in the last year. I know how very difficult it must be for her family especially her children to lose both of them only 6 months apart. Be comforted that they are now together with their Lord and savior as true servants of God the Almighty. Amen
