Christine Marie Moen

Age 80

Passed away at Rose Pointe in Roseville on October 5, 2017. She was born in Crookston, MN on October 8, 1936, to Jens and Viola Harboe. After graduating from Crookston High School she moved to St. Paul. Christine married Leon in 1958 and they spent over 46 years united in marriage. She worked for more than 36 years at the University of Minnesota, Department of Agriculture Extension Service in St. Paul. Upon her retirement, she remained an active supporter of the university, participating in many retirement gatherings with her former co-workers. An ardent believer in the value of education for young people, she created a scholarship foundation and actively supported that cause until her death. Preceded in death by her husband, Leon; parents; and sister, Joan. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Bob Moberg, Sr.; nephew, Bob Moberg, Jr.; niece, Sally (Scot) Kerbaugh and their children Devin and Danai; and niece, Holly Moberg (Marcus Traylor). A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow on Tuesday, October 10, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE, Minneapolis. Memorials preferred to the UMC Herbert and Anna Johnston Scholarship Fund at the University of Minnesota.
