Curtiss W. Quesnell

Born in Cambridge, MN on March 20, 1932, he was preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Ira and Elvera Quesnell, his brothers Vernon Findell and Rev. Earl Quesnell and his sister Victoria Rither. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Iona, six children Rita Quesnell, Vera Vichich (Paul), Curt Jr. (Deb), Steve (Kris), Michael (Anne) and Kelly Steglich (Bill); and 15 grandchildren: Jenny, Julie and Janelle Dobbs; Lee and Gail Vichich, Jill Obi (Daniel); Carson (Marisa) and Adam Quesnell; Maddy and Max Quesnell; Hannah, Luke and Andrew Quesnell; Corey (Connie) and Colton Steglich.

Curt lived life to the fullest, and was always the salesman. He began his career at age 7 selling little felt flower pins made by an aunt door to door. He helped an uncle sell cars, had a paper route (delivered to Hubert Humphrey), dabbled in construction work, a bottler at Canada Dry, then on to become the best salesman for Bambi Bread/Bakery routes until prices went up to 10 cents a loaf and the company closed up shop. He then sold freezers (full of meat), fire alarm systems, siding, etc. In his later years he was the service manager for Burroughs until he tired of all the traveling and began selling cars around the Twin Cities beginning with Rosedale Chevrolet working well into his retirement years. Playing bridge was a favorite of his, although he enjoyed playing many card games. He loved having people around, and he and Iona invited many teenagers and adults to stay in their home for an hour, a week or a few months, whatever their needs were. Although introduced to the Christian faith early in his life it wasn’t until later that he fully committed his life to the Lord leading to renewed purpose and vigor in all that he did. He was a generous, loving man with a great big heart, and he shall be dearly missed.

The funeral will be held Friday, June 14th at 12pm with visitation one-hour prior at Sunset Funeral Home, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE, Mpls, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
