David Roger Curtner

November 15, 1946January 4, 2021

Age 74, of St. Anthony, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021.

He was born November 15, 1946 in Lafayette, Indiana to David and Elizabeth “Betty” Curtner. He graduated from Roseville's Alexander Ramsey High School in 1964.

Roger is survived by his two brothers, Keith and Lynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Roger was quiet, but personable and entertaining to all who knew him well and had a quick sense of humor. He was a lifelong member of Northeast United Methodist Church (previously Grace Evangelical United Brethren) where he had many close and enduring friendships and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Roger played piano from a very young age and loved to play and sing, especially his own compositions. He also enjoyed writing poetry and stories of a humorous, or often spiritual, nature. He will always be loved and remembered.

As a former junior and senior high school classmate of Roger's, I was saddened to learn of his passing. I had wished that I'd gotten to know him better, and was disappointed not to see him at our 50th reunion (there were lots of people, so if he was there, I missed him).

I hadn't known he was a musician and a poet--we could have had some interesting conversations if we'd stayed in touch. My regrets.

My sincere sympathies to Roger's family.
