Delores "Dee" Irene Palm

Born July 24, 1938, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Harold and Irene Stevens. Dee graduated from Edison High School, Minneapolis in 1956. She was active in a group called “Alpha-Ettes” during her high school years and beyond, resulting in long lasting friendships with those members throughout her life.

At fourteen, while teaching ballroom dance, she met David - the love of her life. They were married on September 20, 1958, in Minneapolis and were blessed with four children: Lezlie, Jim, Chris, and Kathryn. They lived in Coon Rapids and Fridley, MN until 1972 when they relocated to Little Falls, MN where they resided for 23 years, then returning to the Minneapolis area.

Dee worked at Gearhart Funeral Home Coon Rapids and Anoka Chapels assisting with visitations, then moving into receptionist for the Gearhart, Kapala-Glodek New Hope and Northeast Chapels, and Sunset Funeral Home and Cemetery. Later she moved into funeral follow-up work with compassion through the age of eighty-seven, serving these funeral homes for 20 years.

Dee cherished her seven grandchildren- Nicholas Burggraff, Tiffany (Todd) Wiederich, Piper Palm, Samantha Palm, Alexandra Amanso, Trent (Jessica) Herold, and Kelsi Herold. Dee adored her twelve great grandchildren- Madison and Mason Burggraff, Hailey, Devan, Zack, and Caden Wiederich, Griffin and Sonny Palm, Hendrix Gladue (Samantha Palm's son), Amarachi and Uzochukwu Amanso, and Levi Herold.

Survived by children, Lezlie (Gary) Burggraff of Aurora, MN, Jim (Julie) Palm of Owatonna, MN, Chris (Jackie) Palm of Crosslake, MN, Kathryn (Perry) Herold of East Bethel, MN; brother in-law, Wesley “Jerry” (Carol) Palm of Winston-Salem NC; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Irene Stevens; in-laws, Martin and Ruth Palm, and granddaughter, Samantha Palm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Sunset Kapala-Glodek Funeral Home, Minneapolis with visitation beginning at noon.

Interment will be held at Sunset Cemetery- Chapel of Peace at 3:00 pm.
