He was born on March 13, 1935 in Faribault, MN to Earl and Jean Beers. Douglas worked for Ulrich Motors for 34 years, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Rush Lake, as well as camping and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley; and siblings Earl, Rob, and Donna.
Douglas is survived by his son Randy; daughter Sheila; daughter-in-law Jan; grandchildren Brett, Hannah; great granddaughter Aliza; and numerous extended family and friends, including his Meals on Wheels Crew from St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
In accordance with Douglas's wishes, services will be private.
