hi grandma, I miss you more then I can put into words. I think about you all the time but even more so now cause its the holidays soon. This Christmas eve will be my first Christmas eve with my mom that we aren't going to be gathering as a family at your house... and I'm sad cause I loved doing that. it was even more special for me cause it only happened every other year and so it was just extra special. a lot has changed since you've been gone as you probably know and I wanted to thank you for looking over us when stuff got hard cause I know you were helping us. Its been close to 2 years and always think about how they said you wouldn't have more then a day or something and I had been in Florida for nationals and my mom had told me how you had just fallen and would be fine cause she didn't want to ruin my trip. when I got back a few days later she told me the truth but you were still hanging in there. then the night you passed away I refused to leave the hospital, my mom wanted me to get some sleep cause it was a school night, but I couldn't leave. then grandma barb got there cause she was flying in from Massachusetts and then you passed away within an hour of her getting there... with your family all there together. I hate that you had to go but I think that was the best way to go... it was a small miracle that meant so much. I remember I had just landed and went straight to the hospital from the airport and I walked into your hospital room and you were sleeping. I came and sat down next to you and you woke up, pulled down your mask, grabbed my hand, smiled at me and said my number 1 great granddaughter. I think about that all the time and then you told me how much you loved me and we just had a short talk about how life was and if I had a boyfriend and what he was like, 2 years later and I'm still with that new boyfriend at the time, I only wish he got to meat you. other then saying you loved me and saying how I was your number one great granddaughter, that was our last conversation. besides that I just held your hand or took nap while putting my head on your hospital bed. I have so many amazing memories with you that I will forever cherish. I still talk to you all the time when I'm alone as you probably know and it always helps me feel a little better, or I listen to a voicemail you sent my mom, a few days before you got hurt, you were asking about how I was doing down in Florida cause there were storms down there making sure I was ok, its always  just love hearing your voice. I just hope you're happy and are with grandpa having a blast. I go to visit you everyday 4th of July for your birthday, you made little traditions for our whole family so I thought id make one of my own. I am honored to have been named after the best person I will ever know. I just hope that I can someone live up to my middle name, I hope I make you proud grandma... I ask that as I am looking at colleges and become a legal adult soon that you help lead my on the right path, thanks grandma. I love you so much and you will forever be in my heart, I miss you.

Our condolences Darlene and family, so sorry to hear about Eleanore's passing.  She was a warm, caring, full of life and pleasure to have known for most of our lives.   She will be truly missed by everyone who has had the honor to have known her.

Eleanor was one of god's angels on earth. A gentle spirit with a very loving heart. We last saw her at aunt Lou's funeral February 3rd, we were so surprised and blessed to have spent time with her that morning. Both her and her sister Betty were good friends to aunt Lou.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this sad time...
