Evelyn "Evie" Lucille Kaufmann
Passed away on March 16, 2021
KAUFMANN, Evelyn Lucille, “Evie”, age 84 of Champlin, formerly of Brooklyn Park, left this earthly realm on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 and was reunited with her beloved husband and best friend, Gerald R “Jerry”, welcomed by adored mother Florence, sister Arlyne D Weishar, cherished friends, biological father Edward and numerous siblings.
Her memory and legacy will live on in her daughters, Kristall Davis, Leslie (Dean) Vatne; grandchildren, Cory (Megan) Davis, Jennifer (Craig) Koterba, Ryan (Kelly Martin) Davis, Andre’ (Samantha Peterson) Hardy, Allison (John Bryce) Vatne, Megan (Jade Miller) Vatne; great-grandchildren, Ellen, Addison, Landon and Haven. She will be dearly missed by lifelong friends, her Champlin Shores family and the many lives she has touched over the years.
“Sparky” (a well-suited nickname), was the quintessential friend. No matter who you were, she always made sure you felt loved, important, safe, and were fed. She was quick witted with a sassy sense of humor, kind, gentle, forgiving and patient. Life held its challenges for her from an early age, however, one thing remained a constant, her steadfast faith. A quiet and gentle spirit that exemplified grace and grit. Evie’s talents were many. She was an accomplished cosmetologist servicing world renowned clients at Dayton’s The Looking Glass Beauty Salon in the 50’s. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, puzzles, organizing, furniture restoration, perusing the aisles of Target, chatting with friends, grilled cheese, chocolate shakes, fries, and stripes. Evie and husband Jerry were “two peas in a pod.” You rarely saw one without the other during their 54-year marriage. Spending time with family was paramount to them. They enjoyed vacationing in Branson, Hawaii, “Up North” and taking leisurely Sunday drives. No matter what the occasion, they were happy just being together. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Champlin Shores, St. Croix Hospice, Mercy Hospital and Champlin PD. The genuine love, compassion, dedication and care you have shown is most appreciated.
A private family service will be held on March 27, 2021. If desired, memorial contributions can be made “In memory of Evelyn Kaufmann” to: Champlin Shores 119 E Hayden Lake Rd, Champlin, MN 55316 OR St. Croix Hospice 7755 3rd Ave No. Suite 200, Oakdale, MN 55128.
