Yesterday we buried our grandmother and it was a very hard day. As a Paul bearer I was honored and saddened to help my grandmother to her final resting place, and while the memory of that will always stay with me, so too will the good things. The family get togethers with Grandma in the kitchen with her daughters, cooking up fantastic meals; her love of the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, and the Timberwolves; they way she could transform simple masking tape into a nearly impenetrable barrier on Christmas and birthday presents; and they way she loved all her children and grandchildren even when we were running around like little wild heathens. So many things to remember about Gladys Grant, my grandmother, but those are just some of the things I will remember most. Though I’m sad she is gone from this world, I’m glad her pain is also gone, and she can rest now in forever peace. Love you Grandma.
