Jim's adventurous spirit and zest for life were complemented by his loving wife and partner of 53 years, Bonnie. Together, their many travels created cherished memories.
They particularly found joy on the North Shore of Lake Superior. They cherished peaceful moments together, taking in the breathtaking scenery and finding solace in the serene surroundings. In addition to their adventures, Jim had a deep passion for fishing, spending peaceful hours casting his line into the waters from Lake of the Woods and Clearwater in Canada to the ocean shores of Sitka, Alaska. The thrill of the catch and the tranquility of nature brought him immense joy.
Music held a special place in Jim's heart, and he found great joy in listening to his favorite tunes. One of his fondest destinations for live music was the vibrant city of New Orleans, where he eagerly attended New Orleans Jazzfest year after year.
Jim's love for his family was evident in his roles as a loving husband to Bonnie and a proud father to his daughters, Maggie Davis (Greg Davis) and Jessie Conley (Mike Conley). His grandchildren, Lucy, Layla, Regan, and Charles, were the light of his life, filling his days with laughter and love.
Jim's family ties were strong and meaningful. He is survived by siblings Tom Stockhaus, Mike Stockhaus (Nancy), Mary Lamb (Brian), Kathleen Stockhaus-Lee (Chris), and Pat Stockhaus (Beth). They were united by love, support, and shared experiences, enriching Jim's life in countless ways. He is also survived by brother-in-laws, William Westerman, Richard Bredsten, Robert Bredsten and sister-in-law, Barbara Paulsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine (Reilly) and Ivar Stockhaus, his in-laws, Vern and Ollie Bredsten, sister, Nancy (Stockhaus) Westerman and sister-in-law, Beverly (Bredsten) Korwicki. Their memory will forever be cherished.
