James Weller

January 27, 1961May 17, 2013

James Paul Weller, age 52, of Columbia Heights, passed away May 17, 2013 after a valiant fight against a particularly virulent form of Multiple Myeloma.

Preceded in death by his infant son Andrew Michael.

Survived by his best friend & daughter Amy Weller; loving parents, Karen & Paul Weller; sister, Patricia Weller (Dennis Monroe) & their children: Mary Speake (Jon, daughter Lilian), Alex Monroe (Erica), Matthew Monroe & Jonathan Monroe; brother Jerry Weller (Sylvia) & their children Tim & Ashley Weller; his other best friend, Cindy Vannelli; Amy's grandmother, Jean Kalka; Amy's mom, Jerri Lynn and her sisters Karen, Gloria, & Beverly and their respective children; the "Bears" Special Olympics family; his riding buddies; and Jim's aunts, uncles & cousins.

Jim was the definition of a good guy: he always had a ready hand, a generous spirit & kind heart. We take comfort that he is with his son, at peace & out of pain but we will miss him terribly.

Sincere thanks to Dr. Bachanova & the BMT unit at The U; the healers at the UMMC and units 7D (especially Suk) & 4B.

Memorial Service: 10 AM, Wednesday, May 22 at Sunset Chapel, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd NE, Minneapolis. Memorials preferred to the Amy Weller Supplemental Needs Trust.

So sad to hears of Jim's illness and death. I have many fond memories of our younger years together as a couple 1978-1984. Oh! Gosh we had fun! Great memories of him water skiing at the lake. There is no doubt he will be missed by family and friends. I hope the Weller family will find comfort in knowing that he is at peace now.

Our sincerest condolences. You and your family are an example of what God intended when he created families. What a gift it must have been for Jim to have you there the moment he was ushered into God's loving arms. It is a precious, bitter sweet moment. We all carry a piece of Jim in our heart because you each shared a piece of yourselves with him. And in that piece you shared, love is being reflected back not only to those who knew Jim but to all of us who know each of you! You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
