

Age 87, formerly of Edina, passed away April 26, 2011. Preceded in death by his loving parents, Adolph & Ruth Ostrow; brother, Stanley Ostrow; and former wife, Johanne Nathinson Ostrow, all resided in PA. Survived by loving wife, Phyllis J. (Boettcher) Ostrow; children, Thomas W. Boettcher (daughter, Alexandra Boettcher), Scott R. Boettcher, Brynette J. Boettcher Stodola (John) Walsh; grandchildren, Lindsay (Perry) Stodola (Adam and son, Gavin), Abigail Stodola; two daughters residing in PA, Donna Kohut (son, Nicholas and wife, Renelle) and Linda Niedermeyer (sons, Jamie, Joey & Josh); four grandsons; Mrs. Stanley Ostrow and children. Jerry attended The Univ. of Michigan, enlisted in the U.S. Naval Air Reserve, attaining rate, AETM 2nd Class, in 1942. He helped develop new radar systems, including the National Early Warning System and was Honorably Discharged in 1946 with honors. He went into business with his father at the same time pursuing his true passion of breeding and showing Arabian Horses and Bloodhounds. Showing them around the U.S., they won many awards and trophies, including Best of Show for one of his Bloodhounds. Jerry resided at Windy Hill Farm. He was active in many organizations, including: West Moreland C.C. and Oakmont Yacht Club in Pitt., PA., The West Virginia Jockey Club, The International Arabian Horse Assoc., PA Horse Assoc., American Quarter Horse Assoc., PA Quarter Horse Assoc., and American Kennel Club. Jerome and Phyllis were married in Sept. of 1979 at St. Martin's Church in Mtnka. Beach, MN. Jerome loved life. A Private Inurnment was held at Sunset Cemetery on May 11th.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM, WEDNESDAY, May 18th, with visitation at 1:30PM, all at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, located at 50th & Knox Ave., Mpls.
