He is survived by his wife, Lynn; sons, Paul Pritchard and Sean Pritchard; daughters, Carol Fisher, Mary Pritchard, Julie Kukar, Lisa Bailey and Mary Baker; grandchildren, Kim and Jon Fisher, Daniel (Katie Mae) and Brandon (Lindsay) Pritchard, Jonathan Pritchard, David Bailey, Joshua and Matthew Kukar and great-grandchildren, Audrey, Joshua, Lydia and Hannah Pritchard. He was preceded in death by parents, Owen and Margaret; first wife, Patricia and sons, Thomas and Timothy.
John graduated from Minneapolis South High and Drake University in Des Moines, IA. He was named to the Drake Basketball All-Decade Team 1940-1949. He was selected in the NBA draft by the St. Louis Bombers and played for the Waterloo Hawks in 1949-1950. He played for the Washington Generals who toured with the Harlem Globetrotters. He retired from Sears.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 18, with a gathering 1/2 hour prior at Robbinsdale Chapel 4239 West Broadway
