

Prior to retirement, Jon was employed by Clearfield, Inc, which designs, manufactures and distributes fiber optic connectivity and management products. As Business Development Manager, Jon distinguished himself by acquiring the global Google account, the largest sale in the company’s history.
Jon was an avid fan of Minnesota sports teams. He was a passionate lifelong supporter of the Vikings, holding season tickets for many years. He had the privilege of witnessing the Twins win two World Series championships, and was also an enthusiastic Minnesota Wild hockey fan.
Jon’s favorite hobbies were canoeing and camping. He made many epic trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area bordering Canada.
He also enjoyed model rocketry and creating spectacular fireworks displays for the whole neighborhood.
Although he never married, Jon was close personal friends with Barb Jeske, and had a special relationship with ‘granddaughter’ Kaia Deckard. When she was a youngster, Jon & Barb took Kaia on many canoe and fishing adventures throughout the scenic lakes and rivers in the Perham area
Preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Lasalle Giwojna and his father, Benjamin Peter Giwojna.
Survived by his sisters, Catharine Schmidt and Joanne Swanson; his brothers, Peter, Steven, J. Kelly (Beth), and Ben (Nancy), as well as his beloved Australian Shepherd ‘Bandit.’
