

Karen Chang was born on March 24th, 1962 to her late father Youa Cher Chang and her late mother Yer Xiong in a Village called the Horn of Buffalo Mountain (Roob Kub Twm), Laos. Karen has one older sister and one older brother. One older step sister and one younger step sister and five step brothers.
Karen arrived in the United States in October 1979 at the age of 17 in Kansas. The family lived in Kansas for two months and then moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Karen was able to attend adult school and one year in high school while in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Karen got married but later divorced.
Karen worked for a sewing company as a seamstress until she had health problems. Karen was a decisive, independent, and goal oriented person. She worked hard to reach her goals. Karen was funny and had a sense of humor and made many friends in the Hmong community and liked helping close relatives and others when they needed help.
Karen accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and got baptized on September 20, 2015, by First Hmong Baptist Church in Coon Rapids, MN. Karen’s greatest wish was to be with the Lord someday. As Karen wished, she went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 1:30 pm. Karen Chang had touched many lives and made many friends through her sense of humor and she will be missed.
A funeral service for Karen will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Sunset Cemetery, 2250 St Anthony Boulevard NE, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55418, followed by an interment at 12:30 PM.
